We are excited to announce that The Neighboring Movement has been awarded a $50,000 grant from the Kansas Health Foundation to continue and expand the work of the Kansas Animator Network. The Kansas Health Foundation is a philanthropy dedicated to improving the health of all Kansans. For more information about the Kansas Health Foundation, visit www.kansashealth.org.
The Kansas Animator Network (KAN) is the place where Kansans who seek to create equity, passion, and compassion in their communities connect with one another, learn asset-based community development (ABCD) and take action to strengthen their neighborhoods from the inside out. The first learning cohort began in 2020 and now meet in-person and online for training and networking. We have 20 Animators so far and hope to have 6 more cohorts and 40-50 more Animators before the end of 2022.
Animators also participate in voter engagement through The Neighboring Movement’s partnership with The Voter Network. Animators will use the Voter-To Voter tool which provides a platform for relationship-based encouragement to help your connections make a voting plan.
We are grateful for the Kansas Health Foundations’ continued commitment to supporting health in our state and their willingness to invest in our efforts to create nurturing, authentic community through neighboring.
