Hard Launching the Wichita Activator Network!

In the heartland of America lies Wichita, Kansas, a city rich in history, culture, and aviation heritage. For many years, The Neighboring Movement has energized the community through several programs. Despite a perceived friendliness, Wichita ranks low when it comes to neighboring. James Chung found that out of 108 cities surveyed, Wichita ranked eleventh-lowest on talking with neighbors frequently, ninth-lowest on doing favors for neighbors frequently, and lowest on seeing and hearing from friends and family frequently. Wichita Activator Network promises to be a game-changer through transformative initiatives that will address these concerns by creating a network of individuals who are committed to neighboring our city. This year, we are building the structure with a goal of 100 people hosting a neighbor gathering, with plans to scale this system quickly and impact 20% of Wichita by 2030. By impacting 80,000 people, we will create a new culture of neighboring in Wichita.

We welcomed our Steering Committee members to Evergreen Library & Community Center to kick-off the Wichita Animator Network (WAN)! The steering committee will collobrate to co-design and test tools to scale TNM programs.

There was a sense of optimism and determination in the air. Armed with a shared vision and a commitment to action, participants left energized and inspired, ready to embark on this transformative journey together. Stay tuned to our socials as we continue to activate neighbors!
