Neighboring Tip of the Week - Donate some gently worn clothing to your local thrift shop.

Happy Sunday, friend!

This week, we’re thinking about contributing to our neighborhood economies and assets in ways that don’t require money. One simple way you can do so - and help support environmental justice by not simply throwing them away - is to donate your gently worn clothing to your neighborhood thrift shop. So, that’s our tip for today!

Not only is this action good for the planet, your neighborhood thrift shop, and you, but it’s fantastic for neighboring, as well! Who knows which neighbors you might run into at the shop? And regardless, it’s a chance to get to know your neighborhood thrift shop - what we would call an asset in your neighborhood - better! When exploring neighborhood assets like businesses, we always encourage people to ask questions in order to learn more about them. How long have they been there? What’s their story? How can you help spread the word? Questions like these help you get to know the place a bit better…and they help both you and the people at the business (who may or may not also live within the neighborhood) feel more connected to the neighborhood!

Happy Neighboring!
