The Neighboring Movement is changing how we think about our communities.
The Neighboring Movement is all about changing how we think about our communities. Instead of focusing on what we lack, we celebrate what we have. We believe in joy, building meaningful relationships, and recognizing the abundance around us. Our goal is to discover and connect the unique talents that people already have so that our communities can grow and thrive together.
Neighboring is a simple idea that anyone can participate in, regardless of their background or situation. We encourage people to connect with each other and build trust. Everyone has something special to offer, and when we share our gifts, it helps us feel more complete and makes our community stronger. By being true to ourselves, we can all grow and succeed together.
Animator Networks
Community Animator Network
The Community Animator Network (CAN) trains individuals in Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) and teaches them how to utilize the ABCD framework to create sustainable change in neighborhoods and communities that are grounded in existing strengths. CAN is a 12-week program that pays you to become a Community Animator and create change right where you live in as little as 5 hours a week. We have multiple cohorts throughout the year and would love for you to join one!
Faith-Based Animator Network
The Faith-Based Animator Network (FAN) is a 14-week, paid program designed for individuals and congregations that develops strengths-based leadership skills through Asset-Based Community Development. FAN enables you to discover where God is already at work in your neighborhood and community and how to utilize those gifts to create positive change right where you live. We have several cohorts each year and invite you and your congregation to join one!
We Care Initiative
We Care ICT
We are on a mission to have 80,000 Wichitans commit to being a good neighbor. Being a good neighbor is simple, and everyone can participate - no experience or training is required! All you have to do is meet the neighbors closest to you, identify their unique skills and talents, and start engaging with them regularly. These simple steps help us all be active, caring, and responsible neighbors and community members, working together to build thriving communities right in our backyard. Be part of the movement today!
