Result: New Kid on the Block!

Congratulations! You’re the New Kid on the Block. Below you will find helpful ways that you can grow in our ingredients of neighboring: relationship, abundance, and joy!

  • Joy

We believe Joy is what happens when you understand yourself and your role in your community. A great way to understand yourself better is to identify your core values. Here is one mini-experiment that can help you identify your core values:

Make a list of your favorite books, movies, and music. Why do you love these things? Most likely the things you love about the things on this list will inform you about the values you desire to see in your life.

  • Relationship

We believe neighborly relationships are created when you give care to and receive care from the people who live near you. A great way to increase this type of relationship on your block is to think about the design of your home. Here is a mini-experiment to get you started:

Consider the public spaces in your home: front yard, apartment hallway, driveway, etc. How can you make this space welcoming and comfortable for yourself and your neighbors? Spend 15-20 minutes in this space a couple of times this week and see who you run into.

  • Abundance

We believe abundance starts with a focus on individual strengths, talents, interests, and skills; we call these gifts. A great way to start with an abundance focus is to identify your own gifts. Here is a mini-experiment that can help you know your gifts:

Answer the following questions about yourself.

    1. What is something you know so well you could teach it to someone?

    2. What is something you can make or create with your hands?

    3. What is a group, demographic, or association you love? (ie. kids, cancer survivors, senior citizens)
