Neighboring Tip of the Week - Help your neighbor with an errand.

This week’s neighboring tip is a little more spur-of-the-moment than planned, but in general, a lot of neighboring is that way. As much as scheduling out experimenting with these kinds of tips helps us be intentional about making space for neighboring in our weekly calendars, so much of neighboring is just being present to your neighbors and going with the flow! This is at least what we’ve discovered, and when you’re open to the surprises of spontaneous neighboring, you’d never believe what kinds of magical experiences you’ll get to be a part of….

So, this week, we encourage you to help a neighbor with an errand. Again, this tip is a bit more on your neighbor’s time, and that’s part of what makes it beautiful. If you’re chatting with a neighbor this week, and they mention something like going to the grocery store to pick up food for another neighbor or going to the hardware store to pick up some tools or materials for a home project, we would encourage you to offer to join them. Not only could you be helpful in carrying heavy loads, or give them company as they carry out something that feels like a chore, but this ask also makes space for you both to get to know one another more!

Happy Neighboring!
