Kickin’ Off Hispanic Heritage Month

This past weekend one of our Animator’s, Sandrine Lisk, hosted a multicultural bazaar at The Expatriates Building in our neighborhood, SoCe!

Sandrine says, “The Multicultural Community Bazaar was the Expatriate' Building's first large community event showcasing our diversity in nationalities, businesses, food, music, and dance Performances in SoCe Wichita. It was very heartwarming and exhilarating to have 22 different participants, and see so many people show up to support them. As a representative of Native Americans, the Wichita War Dancer's dance of protection, strength, encouragement and support to welcome and honor all humankind was my personal highlight. The Bazaar was an incredible experience, and we look forward to hosting more in the future.”

It is always such a joy to be able to show up to these community-led events. As staff, we know the extent of their magic and capabilities. But to see these lovely gatherings play out and leave a positive impact on our neighborhood is one of the best feelings. Just ask Catherine!

“I love attending events or activities hosted by animators and seeing their hard work, talent, and connections culminate in something that brings people together. I know how hard they work to animate spaces and communities. I always find it inspiring to witness!” - Catherine Johnson
