What We Did in April - Community Animator Network
Another month has flown by! And with it, our community builders have been up to so many things. One highlight was Arionna Tull’s sustainable fashion show!
A note from Catherine …
I met many inspiring people at this Earth Day celebration! A highlight for me was the community art activity. How often do you get to pick up a needle and thread or a paintbrush and participate in a community fashion design project?
Thank you to Ari for inviting me to facilitate one of our favorite ABCD activities: Head, Hands, Heart. We had a blast learning about each other’s gifts, skills, and passions – I met a talented person who assured me they could teach me to skateboard, a person who taught various knots, a painter, a gardener, a filmmaker, and an urban farmer. It is always inspiring to discover the gifts in the room and to focus on the strengths we already HAVE in our midst! Undoubtedly, we can work together to move our community forward in the area of sustainability and environmental stewardship.
More highlights from our community builders!
Clarissa (Liberal, KS) is now a part of the Cinco De Mayo Committee. They just distributed ten scholarships to 10 high school students!
Emily has been meeting one on one with students who want to get connected to the community. Somos First-Gen has been a great support to new and incoming students to the university.
Les (Florence, KS) is progressing with starting a childcare center in his town. They just had their first board meeting and have identified a great Executive Director candidate!
